Modifications for the Pregnant Practitioner at Power Edge Yoga

This Continuing Education course provides a basic understanding of how to modify a regular yoga class for a pregnant student. Yoga Teachers, Health Practitioners, Doulas, and Students are all welcome. In this course, you will learn:
— Modifications for most common asanas taught in regular yoga classes
— Asanas to encourage and avoid for each stage of pregnancy — - Understand the anatomy and physiology of a pregnant student
— Pranayama techniques to encourage and avoid for pregnant students
— Understand how pregnancy influences the energy bodies of both — Mother and Child
— Ethics of teaching a pregnant student
What to bring:
Power Edge Yoga has props available at no charge. However, because props are limited, we do highly encourage students to bring their own. Here is a list of props we will be using:
— Yoga Mat Block(s)
Additionally, please bring a pen and journal/notepad to write on. There is no pre-requisite to participate in this workshop. It is open to anyone who wants to learn yoga asana and pranayama modifications for the pregnant student.
**PLEASE NOTE: This workshop does NOT prepare participants to lead prenatal yoga classes. The purpose is to only prepare participants in the event that they have a pregnant student in their regular yoga class or are pregnant themselves wishing to continue regular yoga classes.
