Friday, October 13th—Join us for our final event celebrating the 100th Aniversary of Our Lady of Fatima.
Bishop Joseph N. Perry will celebrate a Pontifical High Mass in honor of Our Lady of Fatima, marking 100 years since the «Miracle of the Sun» on October 13th, 1917.
Father Rocky, Executive Director of Relevant Radio will preach the sermon: «Can I hope for a miracle? What is the miracle I need?»
The St. Cecila Choir & Orchestra will sing the grand 'Missa Cellensis in C' (Mariazellermesse) by Franz Josef Haydn as well as other pieces by Mozart and Schubert.
Af the conclusion of the Mass, there will be a outdoor candelight ceremony to crown Our Lady of Fatima on the steps of St. John Cantius Church.
Confessions will be heard beginning at 7 pm.
Free parking on city streets near Saint John Cantius Church will be available. The church is also easily accesible by bus and the CTA (Blue Line: 'Chicago' stop).
Candles and other materials will be provided free of charge. Commemorative Fatima Centennial handkerchiefs will also be available for a small donation.
The October 13th event is the conclusion of of a six-part series of events from May to October 2017 commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal.
The events are sponsored by the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA and Relevant Radio
Pope Francis has granted to the faithful a special Plenary Indulgence for taking part in the Centennial Celebrations on the 13th of each month.
This year as we observe the 100th Anniversary of such a significant moment in history, we welcome all, Catholic and non-Catholic alike to come and experience the meaning of the message of Fatima.
