Make The 606 shine with light you wear or carry — an LED candle, glow sticks, or a string of lights you fasten to your jacket, stroller, or dog leash. No open flames, please.
4:00 PM-5:30 PM: Walk along the trail to Churchill Field Park. Make your way there on your own, or join a festive procession that will step off from the Exelon Observatory (1800 N. Ridgeway) at 4:00 PM. Procession conveners include Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center, Free Street Theater, Quilombo Cultural Center and West Town Bikes. As you walk the trail, you might encounter a choir, shimmering projections, and animated chandeliers from Cabinet of Curiosities.
5:00 PM-6:30 PM: Enjoy festivities at Churchill Field Park. Activities include a giant shadow puppet screen and illuminated obstacle course from Opera-Matic, and a performance from their bell choir. Kaiju Daiko drummers and Full Moon Fire Jam will also work their magic. Gather around fire pits for s’mores, hot cocoa, churros, and community cheer.
