Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs at NEIU
5500 North St Louis Avenue, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, Illinois 60625
Poet and immigration activist Marcelo Hernandez Castillo will be visiting campus on Monday, March 12, and giving a free, public reading in the Pedroso Center at 5-7PM.
Doors at 5. Reading/talk at 5:30PM. Q&A and book sales/signing to follow.
Please note that in the case of a larger crowd, we will move the event to Student Union 103, Golden Eagles. (Look for signs upon arrival to—it's a 3-minute, same-floor inside walk from 1 location to the other.)
The sponsors of the event include The English Department/Creative Writing Minor, Undocumented Student Resources, Undocumented, Resilient and Organized — URO, Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs at NEIU, and Seeds Literary & Visual Arts Journal. Particular, hearty thanks to Luvia Moreno at Undocumented Student Resources, who has been co-organizing.
Please save the date on your calendar, and spread the word!
The Pedroso Center is largely accessible. If you have further questions about accommodations or the event, please email Amanda Goldblatt at [email protected]
Getting there: there is some street parking available, as well as an on-campus garage (which is pay parking.) By transit, we suggest the 82-Kimball bus, getting off at Catalpa. The Pedroso Center is just through the eastern door of Building B, Suite 159, across from the intersection at St. Louis & Catalpa.
