All Munster parents are invited and encouraged to attend this important safety presentation, which will be presented by the Munster Police Department in cooperation with the School Town of Munster. This meeting is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and the presentation will include:
--How to respond to an active shooter situation while at work, shopping, or dining.
--Facts and statistics about workplace and school violence.
--Information about how the Munster Police Department and schools work together to promote safety for the students through training, safety presentations, peer mentoring, and community involvement.
--Tips on what parents, students, and staff members can do to help promote safety in our schools.
Forms will be made available to participants who would like to provide suggestions, questions, or concerns in regards to school safety to police and school administrators. The forms will be collected after the meeting and those participants will be contacted afterwards by the appropriate personnel. Police representatives and school administrators will also stay afterwards to speak personally with anyone who has questions about the presentation or about school safety.
Again, ALL PARENTS are strongly encouraged to attend this program. Please note that some of the subject matter may not be suitable for young children. For more information, please contact our Community Policing Unit at 219-836-6639.
