ULAN BATOR started their long carrier in 1993 in Paris as a duet composed of founding member Amaury Cambuzat (Vox, Guitar and keyboards) and Olivier Manchion (Bass). Their first rehearsals sessions happened in a deep, unused chalk-mine in the suburbs of Paris. This strange location was, step by step, transformed into a «recording studio» where they were to record, compose and produce their first three recorded albums. Now twenty-five years of crafting avant-garde noise-rock later, ten record releases, the creation of their own label Acid Cobra Records and multiple world tours, ULAN BATOR embarks on their first ever Bottle show with a new line-up featuring Phil Puleo of SWANS on drums. To miss this is to never have lived at all.
Chandra Shukla created X A M B U C A before performing a debut performance in Berkeley, CA on April 20, 1995. He formed them from letters left over from a Scrabble game that spelled out what has come to be known as 'X A M B U C A'. It was this that prompted the need for a name and the beginnings of an ongoing collaborative project that was completely free of genre, form, context or musicality with a rotating arsenal of sonic guests. Though now in 2018, the lineup for X A M B U C A consists solely of Chandra Shukla (sound) and sometimes collaborations with Geo Lynx (video). X A M B U C A has performed internationally and continues to produce, record and perform live. X A M B U C A strives to give emphasis to its art both sonically and visually.
